The New Music Ensemble at Grand Valley State University is an undergraduate ensemble that promotes the music of our time through commissions, tours, recordings, collaborations, outreach events, and workshops. Founded in 2006 by its director Bill Ryan, the ensemble not only prepares students for careers that include contemporary music, but helps them to become exceptional educators, advocates, and leaders in the field.

Our TENTH anniversary concert, celebrating the 50th birthday of long-time collaborator Marc Mellits! Press Release. Program.

We hit the road for six days for our March tour, bringing our Music in their Words project to Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

The National Endowment for the Arts awards us an Imagine Your Parks grant to support our continuing National Parks project.

Our collaboration with Philadelphia's Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers and composer Dan Rhode to premiere 11/2 at Fall Arts Celebration.

Our fifth appearance on New Music Detroit's annual new music bash. We premiere our Music in their Words project.

We bring our show with Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers to Grand Rapids on 9/26. Tickets here.

The documentary AS I AM: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF DJ AM premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival. Three tracks from
our In C Remixed CD make an appearance.
